Location & Parking

Where is the Fremont Festival of the Arts located?

  • The Festival takes place on closed sections of the following streets in in downtown Fremont: Paseo Padre Pkwy, Capitol Ave.

Where is the entrance to the Festival?

There are several entrances to the Festival:

  • At the intersection of Liberty St. and Capitol Ave.

  • At the intersection of Hastings St. and Capitol Ave.

  • At the intersection of Paseo Padre Pkwy and Capitol Ave.

  • At the intersection of Paseo Padre Pkwy and Mowry Ave.

  • On Walnut Ave. near Paseo Padre Pkwy

Can I walk from the BART Station to the Fremont Festival of the Arts?

  • Yes! The Festival is less than a 15-minute walk from the BART Station. When leaving the BART Station walk down Bart Way until you reach Civic Center Dr. and take a LEFT. Walk .2 mile and take a RIGHT onto Walnut Ave. Then walk straight ahead for .1 mile until you run right into the Festival!

Is parking available?

Yes! There are several lots available for Festival attendees:

  • Pay Lot: Washington West (nonprofit fundraiser)

  • Street Parking

    • Sundale Ave. east from Fremont Ave. to Liberty St.

    • State St. south from Mowry Ave. to Beacon Ave.

    • Mowry Ave. east of State St. before Hastings St., down Mt. Vernon Ave.

    • Parkside north of Mowry Ave., down Mowry Ave. to Stivers St., north of Mowry Ave.

    • Beacon St. east from Fremont to Liberty St.

    • Kearney St. east from Liberty St. to Paseo Padre Pkwy

    • Liberty St. north from Beacon St. to Capitol Ave.

Is the Festival ADA Accessible?

  • Absolutely. We strive to make sure that everyone can enjoy the Fremont Festival of the Arts. We offer ADA Accessible porta potties at each restroom location, we go to extra measures to ensure that as many sidewalk ramps as possible are open and not blocked by tents or vendors, we welcome service dogs, and we offer ADA Accessible parking at the Social Security Administration Building (3100 Mowry Ave.). This location is very near the intersection of Paseo Padre and Capitol Ave (approaching from Mowry). Be sure to bring your Handicapped Parking Placard (or have the special plates on your car).

I’m coming from out of town and need a hotel room, where should I stay?

Food

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free food options available?

  • We make sure to have a variety of food options for all dietary needs.

Drinks

I don’t drink wine, will there be other drinks available at the Festival?

  • We’ve got you covered, whether it’s alcoholic or not, there will be plenty of options for you at the Festival.

When do you start and stop serving alcohol?

  • We start selling as soon as we open (10:00 am) and we stop selling tickets for all alcoholic beverages at 5:30 pm. Our last pour is at 5:45 pm, so don’t be late!

What if I drink too much and can’t drive home?

  • If you need a ride home, come to the Information Booth and we’ll help you call a Lyft, Uber or Taxi.

At the Booths

Should I bring cash?

  • Most — but not all — vendors will accept credit cards. We recommend you bring a little cash or your debit card, and there are several ATMs located near the Festival for your convenience.

Will there be a Free Speech Zone at the Festival?

  • Absolutely! Anyone is welcome to come participate in this area. No outside tents or umbrellas are allowed. And remember: this is a community space, you MUST share the space with all participants!

Logistics

What if I have questions AT the Festival?

  • If you have any questions or concerns, we will have an Information Booth at the base of the Festival Tower located at the intersection of Capitol Ave and Paseo Padre Parkway.

Will there be activities for kids?

  • Absolutely! We have an entire section of the Festival dedicated to just kids!

Will there be restrooms?

  • There will be several portable restroom areas and hand washing stations throughout the Festival.

Will there be security?

  • Yes. We partner with the Fremont Police Department to ensure that everyone is safe and sound!

Do you recycle at the Festival?

  • We provide three types of waste disposal bins: organic waste, recyclables, and plain-old-trash. Collection centers will be located throughout the Festival.

What happens if it rains the weekend of the Festival?

  • We’ll be there rain or shine, and think you should be too!

Can I bring my dog?

  • Yes, but please keep your pup on a leash and be mindful of other guests in crowded walking areas. Note that the street can get very hot, so consider leaving dogs at home to avoid burning their feet.
