The Fremont Festival of the ArtsKid City is fun for the entire family
Family Fun at the Fremont Festival of the Arts is just down the street from the many artisans and performers this year. Stroll through the Festival to State Street and your kids will be rewarded with a place where they can enjoy activities created just for them.
This family-centered area is filled with activities that are engaging and entertaining. Performers on the Kid City stage, hands on activities provided by the Fremont/Newark YMCA and the traditional amusements and rides provide a unique activity space that goes beyond the typical fair offering of carnival rides.

The Fremont Festival of the Arts is just around the corner, and this year it promises to bring even more fun and entertainment for the entire family. Located off of State Street, just steps away from a variety of artisans and performers, YMCA’s Kids City will entice every child (both young and old) to enjoy an assortment of activities.
This is a family oriented area that strives to bring communities together through many engaging educational activities, face painting, arts and crafts, and games. There will also be a bike safety area that will aid in children’s knowledge of proper safety procedures and bike laws. A visit to the Washington Township Medical Foundation’s Health Center will provide families with information on healthy choices, and an opportunity to stock up on sunscreen.
After exploring all that Kid City has to offer, families may relax and enjoy performances that are held on the Kid City Stage. An array of performances will be held. These will include, but are not limited to a hula presentation by Hula Ohana O Puananikauikawekiu on Saturday August 4th at 11 am and again on Sunday August 5th at 1pm, as well as a martial arts demonstration Saturday and Sunday at noon.
Kid City opens its doors to Fremont’s Festival of the Arts on Saturday August 4th at 10:00am with a ceremony presided by the Mayor of YMCA’s Kid City. The mayor and vice mayor, chosen from an essay contest written by K-6th graders, must answer a prompt about bringing their communities together.
There is fun for the entire family at Fremont’s Festival of the Arts. Bring your family and stop by Kid City where the YMCA works on uniting communities through the showcase of different youth based activities, and the importance of parental involvement in bringing our youth together. Kid City is open both days of the festival, and admission is free to the public.
