En Plein Air Competition

We’re holding our first ever En Plein Air contest at the 34th Annual Fremont Festival of the Arts.

En Plein Air is a French expression for “in the open air.” This competition invites local artists to create and compete on Festival grounds, during Festival hours. There are 3 categories of the competition: Painting, Photography, and Chalk Art. All 3 competitions will take place on Saturday, August 5th from 11am – 5pm. A winner will be announced on the main stage at 5:30pm on Saturday and the 1st and 2nd place winners will be on display all day Sunday at the Festival.

What’s At Stake:

1st Place – $175 CASH + Ribbon

2nd Place – $75 CASH + Ribbon

Winners will be determined by a panel of 3 Judge on the following criteria:

– Skill

– Composition

– Creativity

How to Register:

Registration is easy. Simply click on the link below and follow the instruction. The Entry Fee is $15 + online fees. But hurry, there is a very limited amount of spaces available for each category:

Painters – 10 Spots Available

Photographers – 20 Spots Available

Chalk Artists – 10 Spots Available

Rules:

All Artists must register. No unregistered Artists will be allowed to compete. Artists must be of at least 18 year of age and have signed the Artist Agreement (emailed to the Artist after the Registration process). Artists must bring their own supplies and compete in the designated areas outlined in the map provided to them. Artwork is not allowed to contain any inappropriate content as laid out in the Official Rules. Please download the Official Rules for more details.
