The Fremont Festival of the ArtsSupport Your Local Non-Profits: Eat up!
From “Silly Spuds” to funnel cakes to linguica to Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, we LOVE our Festival food! But what you may not realize is that whatever your preference, when you buy food to eat at the Festival, you are supporting a local non-profit organization. And this means that you are helping to enhance the quality of life in our community for our residents.
From the very beginning of the Festival, the Fremont Chamber has made support for area non-profit organizations one of its primary goals. In place of the traditional fair food vendors who travel from outdoor festival to outdoor festival, we have invited local non-profit organizations to provide the food at the Festival as a fundraising opportunity for their organizations.
Whether they cook the food themselves, partner with a restaurant, staff an ice cream cart, or sell non-alcoholic drinks, our local non-profit organizations benefit from all the food you eat! It is estimated that over the 28 years of the Festival, these non-profits have raised over $8,500,000, which they return to the community through programs and services.
This year, we are pleased to include Food Truck Mafia and their gourmet food trucks in our event for the first time. But this doesn’t mean we have shifted our priorities at all! These food trucks will also be supporting six area non-profit organizations.
So, come on down to the Festival, and enjoy a weekend of guilt-free eating!
